Dr. Daniel Walker hails from Mississauga, Ontario, and has been practising Optometry in the Okanagan for the past 2 years. Dr. Walker completed both his Bachelor of Science undergrad degree and Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo, graduating in 2012. He was voted by his fellow classmates to receive the Dr. Michael Gutwein Memorial Award in his final year of Optometry school, an award for the most social and involved student in the class. This comes as no surprise to the Visionfirst Optometry team and patients as we have enjoyed Dr. Walker’s personal approach to vision care and intention in getting to know those he works alongside and serves in our community. He practised full-scope Optometry in Newfoundland for 3 years prior to moving west and settling in Kelowna. Dr. Walker most enjoys getting to meet new people and engaging with his patients all day. He also finds fulfillment in being able to improve people’s vision and seeing them leave the office happy that their quality of life has improved. Hiking, cooking, playing and listening to music, wine, and spending time with friends and family are some of the things you’ll find Dr. Walker enjoying when he’s away from the office, most of the time with his fiancee, Casey. Together they are planning and anticipating their wedding in September 2017!
